What type of laptops do you repair?

We repair Windows laptops and notebooks. We do not repair Apple laptops. 

What laptop components do you replace?

We replace the following laptop components: LCD panels, lithium batteries, optical drives, wireless cards, memory modules, motherboards, CPUs, and storage drives.

Do you repair physical damage?

Yes, we can repair physically damaged laptop components, such as cracked LCD screens; however, any laptop with physical damage would require an assessment prior to any repair.

What brands of laptop do you repair?

We repair all major brand Windows laptops, including Lenovo, HP, Dell, Acer, Asus, ZooStorm, MSI, Alienware, Corsair, Microsoft, and Samsung.

Do you supply and fit branded parts?

Yes, we supply and fit a combination of retail-branded parts from manufacturers including Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Crucial, Corsair, Kingston, Patriot, PNY, Seagate, WD, Toshiba, Integral, Asrock, Foxconn, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, Dell, HP, Acer, and Lenovo, as well as OEM-branded parts from LG Philips, Optronix, Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron, and Pegatron.

How much do replacement laptop parts cost?

Laptop parts vary in price depending on their type, specification, and availability; that said, replacement parts for mid-range laptops tend to range from £25 to £150. For example, a replacement LCD screen for a 15.6″ laptop will typically cost around £50.

Do you repair laptops on-site?

Yes, we offer on-site laptop repairs for clients in Bury St Edmunds and throughout the local region. On-site laptop repairs are limited to software-related repairs, such as troubleshooting apps.

Can you repair laptops remotely?

Yes, we remote access allows us to repair many software-related issues, such as corrupt drivers and malfunctioning apps. Remote IT support is suitable for any computer with a stable internet connection.

Do you have an office/workshop?

Yes, we have an office/workshop in Bury St Edmunds from which we provide hands-on computer services, computer repairs, and IT support.

Do you offer any guarantee on laptop repairs?

Yes, we offer a twelve-month warranty on all new laptop parts that we have supplied and fitted. On the rare occasions that we use refurbished or used laptop parts, we are only able to extend the warranty provided by the supplier; refurbished parts often carry three-month or six-month warranties. In either case, if any problems arise with any parts that we have supplied within the warranty period, we will provide a prompt resolution at no extra cost. Please note that physical damage, such as a broken DC jack, is not covered by warranty.

How long does a laptop repair take?

The timescale of a laptop repair varies depending on the type of repair. For example, a faulty memory module can typically be diagnosed and replaced in less than an hour, whereas a drive replacement might take several hours to replace and configure.

How much does a laptop repair cost?

Laptop repairs are charged a rate of £30 per half hour, excluding long procedures; for more information, see Long procedures. Laptop and computer repair charges are capped at a maximum of three hours per computer. Replacement parts are charged separately. 

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes, we will always provide an estimate before proceeding with a laptop or computer repair. All estimates are free.
