What type of computers do you repair?
We repair Windows computers, including laptops, notebooks, desktops, and AIO computers. We do not repair Apple computers. For more information on our computer repair services, see Computer repair.
Do you repair computer software?
Yes, we repair a broad range of software, including operating systems, device drivers, security apps, office suites, productivity apps, and email clients.
Do you repair physical damage?
Yes, we repair and replace a variety of damaged computer parts, including LED/LCD screens, keyboards, and charging ports.
What brands of computers do you repair?
We repair all personal computer brands, including Lenovo, HP, Dell, Acer, Asus, ZooStorm, MSI, Alienware, Corsair, Microsoft, and Samsung. Furthermore, we also repair custom-built systems, such as gaming PCs.
How long does it take to repair a computer?
Computer repair times vary depending on the nature and complexity of the repair. For example, a repair of Windows system files on a working system might take under an hour to complete, whereas the same repair on a non-working system might take much longer.
How much do you charge to repair a computer?
We charge £30 per half hour (capped at a maximum of three hours per repair) for computer repairs, such as laptop repair and PC repair. Additionally, we have a long procedures policy to ensure that charges for longer works, such as diagnostic scans, remain fair for all parties; for more information, see Long procedures. Replacement parts are charged separately.
What parts do you replace?
We replace all major computer parts, including storage drives, memory modules, motherboards, wireless cards, graphics cards, sound cards, power supplies, optical drives, LED/LCD panels, and batteries.
Do you use brand-name parts?
Yes, we use a combination of retail and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts from brands including Samsung, Optronix, SK Hynix, Micron, AMD, Intel, Kingston, WD, Toshiba, Integral, Seagate, PNY, Patriot, Corsair, Crucial, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus, MSI, Asrock, Gigabyte, Foxconn, and Pegatron.
How much do replacement parts cost?
The price of replacement parts depends on their type, specification, and availability; that said, replacement parts for mid-range computers tend to range from £50 to £150. For example, a replacement LED screen for a 15.6″ laptop will typically cost around £50.
Do you offer any guarantee on replacement parts?
Yes, we offer a guarantee on all parts that we have supplied and fitted; new parts are guaranteed for twelve months, and refurbished and used parts are guaranteed for between one and six months. If a part that we have supplied develops a fault within the guarantee period, we will replace it at no extra cost. Please note that physical damages, such as broken screens, are not covered.
How do you offer this service?
Computer repairs can be performed remotely, on-site, or at our workshop in Bury St Edmunds. Software-related repairs are often tackled remotely, whereas more hands-on repairs are conducted in the workshop.
